This pumpkin cream cheese dip is great for blackberries, mandarin oranges, and apple dipping for a healthier option or fill your serving tray with all your Halloween favorite cookies, graham crackers, and pretzels!
Ingredients
This dip requires only 5 simple ingredients! A block of cream cheese, softened, powdered sugar, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice. Vanilla can be used as well to add a warming soft touch to the flavor, however, if you decide to use it, vanilla bean paste does work better than the extract as it keeps the dip thicker.
What Should I Eat the Pumpkin Dip With?
You’ll also need any items you’d like to serve for dipping! Healthier options that work well include: blackberries, mandarin oranges segments, apple slices for dipping (if you use both red and green apple slices it adds beautiful color to a serving tray), larger nuts such as whole almonds or walnuts, and pretzels.
Additional fall favorites include graham crackers, chocolate or yogurt covered pretzels, gingersnaps, shortbread cookies, peanut butter/peanut M&Ms, and pumpkin candies and/or candy corn.
Preparation
Preparation for this recipe is quick and easy. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese on medium-high until smooth, about 2 minutes. Turn the speed down to low and gradually add powdered sugar. Continue to beat until fully incorporated.
Add the remaining ingredients and beat just until combined. Refrigerate for a couple of hours. Serve with desired dippers!
Recipe Variations
Healthy Pumpkin Cream Cheese Dip – This recipe is not super healthy due to high amounts of sugar. However, make it healthier using several tips such as selecting fruit as dippers as opposed to cookies, candy, etc. Make sure to opt for organic cream cheese and powdered sugar in the recipe as well. Added bonus: this version does not contain whipped topping (which is full of not-so-great ingredients), making it one of the healthier pumpkin dips out there.
Vegan / Dairy Free – Just substitute vegan cream cheese for the regular cream cheese.
Gluten Free – This recipe is naturally gluten free. However, in order to keep it gluten free, opt for gluten free items as dippers. This includes all of the fruits and nuts mentioned, peanut butter/peanut M&Ms, pumpkin candies, and gluten free versions of all the confections (graham crackers, chocolate or yogurt covered pretzels, gingersnaps, shortbread cookies).
