Ingredients

Simple Syrup

Blueberry Iced Tea

  • 7 cups filtered water, divided
  • 4 tablespoons organic black tea (or 6 black tea bags)
  • 3 cups ice
  • Optional garnish: lemon, mint, and/or additional blueberries

Instructions

Make a blueberry simple syrup.

  • Add blueberries, honey or sugar, water, and lemon juice to a small saucepan. On medium heat, bring to a simmer. Stir consistently, meanwhile using the spoon (you might also find a potato masher helpful) to crush the blueberries. Once sugar has fully dissolved and blueberries are all crushed, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain.

Make Blueberry Iced Tea

  • Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat and add tea. Steep for five minutes. Strain. Mix in blueberry simple syrup and remaining 3 cups water. Pour into a 68-72 ounce pitcher filled with 1 cup ice. Serve/pour over additional ice in glasses.

Notes

*Garnish each drink as desired with fresh mint leaves, sliced lemon, and adding a few fresh blueberries to each glass.
