How to Make a Margarita Bar
This easy self serve margarita bar is perfect for weddings, taco nights, summer parties, and Cinco de Mayo entertaining. Set out classic margarita ingredients, fresh fruit flavors, and fun toppings so guests can build their own cocktails.

- Salt or sugar for rimming
- Lime slices for rimming
- Ice
- Lime juice
- Mango puree
- Pineapple juice
- Strawberry simple syrup
- Triple sec
- Tequila
- Jalapenos, seeded and sliced (optional)
- Agave or honey (optional)
Setting Up the Bar
Set out glasses, ice, tequila, triple sec, juices, fruit purees, and toppings. Add salt or sugar to rimming trays and place lime wedges nearby.
Fill carafes or bottles with juices and margarita flavor options.
Display a printable margarita bar sign or recipe instructions for guests (see post above for free sign).
Making a Margarita
Rim the margarita glass by running a slice of lime around the rim then dipping the glass in salt or sugar and twisting it gently. Fill with ice.
Add tequila (1.5 oz), triple sec (1 oz), lime juice (1-2 oz), and desired fruit flavors (1 oz).
Stir and garnish as desired.
*Supplies may also be desired beyond ingredients, these are also helpful: jigger for measuring, margarita glasses, empty soda bottles for serving juices/purees, stir sticks.
*Optional: Add jalapenos (for a spicy marg) and honey or agave (for a sweeter marg or to reduce the taste of tequila).
