What’s summer without peach season? This season’s favorites: peaches, hot honey, and summer cocktails, combine for the ultimate end of summer cocktail – this hot honey peach margarita. Made with fresh and natural ingredients, this cocktail was inspired by beautiful home-grown peaches.
What is a Hot Honey Margarita?
A hot honey margarita is a take on a classic margarita, using hot honey as the sweetener for a fun kick of chili peppers! This version incorporates peaches for a unique spicy-fruity flavor medley.
Ingredients
For the simple syrup, use hot honey OR honey + jalapenos. The margarita is made with this simple syrup, a peach, a lime, an optional splash of fruit juice and salt rimmer, as well as silver tequila, and a triple sec.
How to Make a Hot Honey Peach Margarita
This Hot Honey Peach Margarita is made like a classic margarita on the rocks, with the addition of peach puree and use of hot honey for the sweetener in the simple syrup. Once the simple syrup is cooled, it’s added to all the other ingredients in a cocktail shaker. The margarita glass is rimmed and filled with ice and the margarita is shaken and poured over ice.
How to Garnish/Rim Your Margarita
To make a “hot” rim for these fun margaritas, rub a lime slice around the edge of the glass. Twist the glass rim in a shallow bowl of chile salt (I used Tajin®). Allow any excess rimmer to fall off.
When to Serve Your Margaritas
These hot honey margaritas are delicious for barbecues and summer night caps. For more flavorful margaritas made with fresh ingredients, try these Healthy Watermelon Raspberry Margaritas or make a fun margarita bar.
Here’s to sweet peaches, fresh margaritas, and the last taste of everything we love about summer. (And as always, regaining our sparkle together),

Hot Honey Peach Margarita
Ingredients
Hot Honey Simple Syrup
- 1/2 cup honey*
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 small jalapeno pepper, sliced (or other hot pepper of choice) *(Or you can skip the jalapenos and try a honey that is already hot, like Mike’s Hot Honey®)
Margarita
- 1/3 cup peach puree (peel a fresh peach and puree the fruit in a blender until smooth)
- 2 ounces silver tequila
- 1 ounce triple sec
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1 tablespoon hot honey simple syrup (see above for ingredients)
- Optional splash of orange or pineapple juice (if extra sweetness desired)
- Optional rimmer: rimming salt (or I used Tajin®)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Making the simple syrup. In a small saucepan, combine all simple syrup ingredients. Heat over low, stirring frequently to dissolve honey. Cook for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and cool for 20 minutes. Use a fine strainer to strain the pepper slices and seeds.
- Margarita assembly. Add to a cocktail shaker: peach puree, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, hot honey simple syrup, and optional juice. Shake for 30 seconds.
- Rim margarita glasses by running a lime wedge around the edge of the glass. Twist the glass rim in a shallow bowl of rimming salt. Allow any excess rimmer to fall off. Add several ice cubes to glass. Pour margarita over top. (I do not strain it as it removes a lot of the peach flavor).
